Yogurt every Day

Posted in Diet & Nutrition on June 3rd, 2006 by Paul

Yogurt is benefitial to your health for many reasons; yogurt is a great source of calcium and protein, yogurt contains bacterial cultures that foster a healthy colon, and yogurt may boost immunity. Studies have shown that yogurt may lower cholesterol and possibly help prevent some types of cancers.

I eat yogurt every day because of these health benefits and regardless of the number of flavors and brands available I still get sick of it. A good way to help keep my interest is to add various ingredients right to the container befort I eat it. I like to add ingredients that add some crunch - my personal favorite is Grape Nuts cereal. I also like nuts such as soynuts or almonds. Be careful when adding ingredients because it is really easy to quickly increase the number of calories just by adding a 1/4 cup of nuts. Here are a few suggestions to try next time you eat some yogurt:

  • Almonds
  • Blueberries
  • Grape Nuts
  • Soy Nuts
  • Milled Flax Seed
