Why You Should Buy a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner
I don’t enjoy vacuuming at all but at the same time I don’t hate it. I’m a bit of a clean-freak and I suffer from allergies so I appreciate its necessity. Part of the reason I don’t like it is because I never felt like my vacuum was effective. I could vacuum a room and still feel like it didn’t get everything.
Fed up with my old vacuum, I purchased a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner to replace my aging Kenmore. I bought a Dyson for several reasons:
- It was the most expensive one I could find in the store. I’m a believer in the saying, “You get what you pay for”.
- Cyclone technology.
- Emptying the bin is simple and very hygienic.
- Lifetime filters. No more bags with this model.
- Telescope reach system
I purchased the Dyson model DC15. The DC15 utilizes something called The Ball to control the direction of the vacuum. This means that it doesn’t have small wheels on the bottom but instead uses a large sphere about the size of a grapefruit that the vacuum rides on. This ball makes maneuvering around furniture a breeze. As with most models it comes in a bright yellow color which makes it look like an industrial-grade piece of equipment.
Cyclone technology doesn’t just sound impressive; it is impressive. To test my new vacuum I vacuumed my living room floor with my old vacuum and then went over it again with the Dyson. To my surprise the canister was a third full even after I just vacuumed it with my old vacuum. To someone like me this can be pretty unsettling.
Emptying the collection container is probably my favorite feature. To empty the container on the Dyson you simply unhook the container, hold it over a garbage container, press the release button and the contents falls from the bottom. I recommend emptying the container outdoors and directly into a trash bag to avoid getting anything back into the air. The plastic bags from the grocery store work really well for this.
What are the downsides? Be prepared to shell out about $500-$600 for full-featured model. Is it worth twice the price of a standard vacuum? I absolutely think so. I have to agree with Dyson when he says, “I just think things should work properly.” and my vacuum cleaner is certainly no exception.
