ViroPop: Environmentalism Made Fun

“Okay, let’s get this straight. ViroPop is NOT a new virus-flavored soda. And ZapRoot is not a show about bombarding plants with laser beams. What is ViroPop then? Well, you could think of it as a salad. It’s green, sure, but also cool, fresh, crisp and tasty. And full of surprises. And good for you.”

ViroPop’s modern eco show, ZAPROOT , is bringing a friendlier face to the green movement. Their sharp witted environmental podcasts are the brain child of independent film makers Sarah Szalavitz & Damien Somerset. They’ve “had it up to here with the over earnest, pompous, we’re-all-gonna-die stuff coming out of the Green movement lately.”

Instead of preaching doom and gloom, they report on environmental issues with a “sense of irreverent fun”, which makes all of that scary global warming stuff much more palatable. Each Zaproot webisode is short, sweet and to the point. They manage to condense a half hour’s worth of information into about 5 minutes and after watching each one, you will feel good about being brought up to date on the latest eco news.
