More: Back-to-School, healthy, Lunches, Snacks
Kids are back to school now. Let’s face it, cafeteria food is not that great. Time to make sure your kids are eating healthy. When making a lunch for your kids include the following:
A serving of whole grain for focus and concentration. Whole-grain bread, pasta, English muffins, tortillas, and frozen waffles.
Protein for staying power. Like lean deli meats, peanut butter, nuts, hummus, and tuna.
At least one serving of a fruit or vegetable for vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Whole fruit, fruit cups in their juice, raw vegetables and 4- to 6-ounce 100% juice boxes.
