Outrage as Accused Killer Gets Life-Saving Liver Transplant
Forty-two-year-old Johnny Concepcion, who is accused of stabbing his wife to death, is drawing some heavy fire from many people.
Concepcion, who reportedly confessed to friends and family that he stabbed his wife, 36-year-old Jordania Sarita about 15 times, isn’t making others angry because of the crime, but because he somehow managed to jump to the head of an organ transplant list in New York City as others continue to wait.
Obviously there’s something wrong with this picture. Concepcion is believed to have panicked after becoming the prime suspect in Sarita’s death and swallowed rat poison as police were closing in. The rat poison caused his liver to fail and hence the need for a transplant.
So not only is he an accused murderer, but he did the damage to himself intentionally. Someone much more deserving should have received that liver.

Organs should be given first to registered organ donors. Those who aren’t willing to donate should go to the back of the transplant waiting list.
If you want to donate your organs to other organ donors, please join LifeSharers. LifeSharers is a non-profit network of organ donors who agree to offer their organs first to other organ donors when they die. Membership is free at http://www.lifesharers.org or by calling 1-888-ORGAN88. There is no age limit, parents can enroll their minor children, and no one is excluded due to any pre-existing medical condition. LifeSharers has over 14,000 members, including members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
Putting organ donors first creates an incentive for non-donors to become donors. It also makes the system fairer.
