Anthony Bourdain Interview on Food Network
Related: Anthony Bourdain, Food Network, Television
Anthony Bourdain has never shied away from his disdain for Food Network. When food blogger Adam Roberts landed an interview with the culinary Icon to discuss his hatred for Food Network we catch a glimpse into his thoughts on food television.
When asked to comment on the problems with Food Network Bourdain says, “aspiring to mediocrity is never a good thing” and in reference to Sandra Lee, “Velveeta on a Triscuit doth not an hor d’oeuvre make.” Bourdain does confess that Giada “doesn’t suck” and admits that he watches Ina Garten.
Food Network still runs episodes of A Cook’s Tour which allows Bourdain to sell more books and broaden his ever-growing audience. I still have it set to record on my DVR.
In the video it looks like Bourdain may have been half-in-the-bag but he somehow still manages to hold back with the exception of a few expletive-laden tirades in true Bourdain fashion. Love him or hate him, Bourdain is always entertaining.
