Chemical Free Swimming PoolsIt took it’s time, but the hot summer weather is finally here. That means we are going to want to have some pool time to cool off. But if you are concerned about all of the chemicals in traditional pools, then check this out. There’s a trend sweeping Europe which is now making it’s way into the U.S. A more natural kind of pool.

The pools recreate nature’s own clean-water technology and keep everything simple. On the shallow end you’ll find aquatic plants that grow beneficial microorganisms that eat harmful bacteria. Sunlight heats the water, and the warm water rises to the top, flowing over the dividing wall into the main area of the pool. Pretty clever huh? You can use waterfalls and natural predators like frogs and dragonflies  to keep your swimming hole free of mosquitos and other bugs.

It sounds like a great swimming pool alternative and I think we can all agree that chlorine isn’t doing anyone any good. Nature already has it all figured out, so why not pay attention for once and work with nature, instead of against it?
