Energy Drinks To Hit Fast-Food Chains

Energy Drinks To Hit Fast-Food ChainsFast-food customers will soon have a new drink option on the menu, energy drinks. Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s recently announced that they’re teaming up with Monster Energy to sell the wham-bam over-caffeinated beverages in 3,000 U.S. stores. Their target customers are of course teenagers.

I personally think it’s a bad move and that these drinks do no one any good. Anything with that kind of jolt that speeds up your system is not doing your body any good. But sadly the trend shows no signs of stopping. In July, Southeastern chain Krystal introduced the industry’s first branded energy drink with a kid-friendly name: The Krystal Blitz. It’s served either “frozen” or “on the rocks”. How charming.

My prediction is that within 4 years they will be pulled from shelves after finally realizing how nasty these drinks are on the body.
