There are some foods that we have always known to help with your vision. Like carrots and blueberries, just to name two. A recent study found that a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids may help people 66 to 74 years old who suffer from age-related macular degeneration.
In the study, Dr. Chi-Chao Chan of the National Eye Institute in Bethesda, Md., studied how omega-3 affected a mouse model of AMD. The diet high in omega-3 resulted in slower lesion progression and improved some lesions.
Dr. Chan believes that the results show that omega-3 fatty acids may effectively protect against AMD and plans to use this model to evaluate additional therapies.
