Heart attack rates fall 17% after smoking bansAccording to two new studies on recent laws, community smoking bans have a dramatic effect on reducing heart attacks. Two separate studies each found that heart attack rates fall 17% within a year after smoking bans take effect.

One analysis included 13 studies. A second analysis considered 11 studies. The studies suggest that public smoking bans could prevent more than 150,000 heart related deaths. Great news for health in general, but it also puts less strain on the medical field and costs less.

We may see smoking bans become more wide spread.
