Over at RightHealth.com they recently posted a poll with the above question. 42% responded, “No, it’s just a handy excuse for irresponsible behavior,” 44% of people believed that it is a real medical condition which can be classified as an addiction.
But what’s the reality? According to the American Psychiatric Association, it is not an officially diagnosable condition…yet. While attempts have been made to include “hypersexuality” into the DSM-V (the most prominent compendium of psychiatric disorders and their diagnostic criteria), experts are still debating the merits of such a diagnosis and how best to classify it.
Why not head over and cast your vote.
This is one of those things that probably has two opposing answers, both correct. On one hand, how can something that we are wired to get a “high” from be addictive? By it’s very nature sex is what we strive for to populate the species and pass on our genes. On the other hand, almost anything CAN be addictive with the right personality.

I really agree, Those who use that as an excuse are very immature in my eyes. Everyone has sexual urges yet there is a way to control it, and if your not comfortable with it then you the urges arent stong enough. People like to be picky these days, sex is not everything. To me sex isn’t a must have as well. We human should have control over what we crave because 1000 years ago life wasn’t this easy
