You might be new to juicing wondering where to start with juice recipes or perhaps you are a veteran, long-term juicer just looking for some ideas to broaden your juicing regimen. Regardless who you are, welcome, you’ve come to the right place if you are looking for some juicing recipes.

Juicing is easy and just requires two things: a juicer and some fruit or vegetables. I assume you’ve already done your juicing homework and bought the right juicer and are now ready to start juicing. That said, many people don’t know how to proceed for the simple reason that they need the right kind of recipes.

Juicer recipes can be as simple or complex as you want them. Many people use apples, carrots, celery, oranges, and tomatoes most frequently. 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 tomato, 4 carrots, 2 celery stalks will make about 15-20oz of juice.

To be honest, you don’t really need recipes to start juicing. You can (and should) experiment with the fruits and vegetables you already like. You should also try different combinations and quantities, as you will end up with something unique each time. However, if you really want to do things right and make some healthy and tasty juices, here are some recipes that might help you:

  • Simple juice – This recipe is simple yet bursting with healthful benefits. Take equal parts of cucumber, carrots and celery, and add a small piece of ginger and some parsley. Drop a piece of apple or a citrus fruit and maybe some wheatgrass. This juice may be an acquired taste, especially if you aren’t accustomed to the vegetal taste. Consider adding more citrus to balance the taste.
  • Apple-Pineapple-Ginger – Core and slice apples, cube some peeled pineapple, and add a small piece of fresh ginger. Juice the apple and ginger first and then juice the pineapple.
  • Calcium rich juice – Juice together ½ cup broccoli pieces with 3 medium sized carrots, an apple, some fresh parsley, and maybe half a lemon.
  • Potassium juice – Load up on potassium by juicing a stalk of celery with 4 medium-sized carrots, an apple, parsley and spinach, and half a lemon. You can also experiment by adding a potassium-rich banana.
  • Colon-cleansing juice – Here’s an excellent recipe to cleanse your colon. Blend together 1 red apple with 1 medium sized carrot, 5 slices of cucumber, a stalk of celery, 1 tablespoon of honey, and some lemon juice. Blend these with ice water and puree. This juice should be consumed immediately, because it loses its efficacy if it gets oxidized.
  • BP reducing juice – Are you suffering from high blood pressure? Try juicing 2 garlic cloves with 1 cucumber, a handful of parsley, 4 carrots with green tops, and 2 stalks of celery.
  • Green Juice – Nothing detoxifies your body better than some potent green juice. Blend together ½ bunch spinach leaves, 2 kale leaves, 1 banana, 1 kiwi, and ¼ cup orange juice. You’d be surprised at how good you’ll feel after drinking this!
  • What about the pulp? – The pulp doesn’t have to go to waste. You can use pulp to make breads or tarts. You just need to decide if you want to go sweet or savory with it. Just use a basic banana bread recipe but subsitiute a cup of pulp for the bananas.

Some additional tips to help you get started juicing.

  • Wash and prep your fruits and vegetables when you bring them home from the market. They will be ready when you need them.
  • Buy carrots. Carrots are inexpensive and you get a surprising amount of juice from a carrot.
  • Add some lemon juice. Lemon juice provides balance and takes the bite out of celery and other bitter vegetables.

More and more people are turning to juicing as an important tool to boost their health. The previous list is just a sampling of the recipes you may want to try out once you’ve bought a juicer. There are endless possibilities when it comes to juicing. Mix, match and try what suits your palate, and continue to read about the different properties that other fruits and vegetables can offer. Finally, don’t be afraid to pulse something new and unfamiliar in your juicer.
