Multivitamins May Increase Breast Cancer Risk

Multivitamins are good for you right? That’s what many people think. But a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that multivitamin use may increase the risk of breast cancer in women.
The finding comes from a 10-year study which followed over 35,000 women between the ages of 49 and 83. The women who reported taking multivitamins at the start of the trial were found to be 19% more likely than the others to develop breast cancer, even after taking into account factors like age, family history of breast cancer, weight, fruit and vegetable intake, and exercise, smoking and drinking habits.
Why this is, we don’t know yet. They will need more studies to get those answers.
