Music Eases Patient’s Stress During Surgery
We all know that music can sooth the savage beast, but it can also sooth a patient during surgery. In fact, someday music may be widely used in operating rooms to help ease anxiety. After all, nothing affects people’s sense of well-being like music does. It lifts their spirits and new research shows that it also calms their nerves.
Literally. According to a study at Cleveland Clinic, music can slow the neuronal firings deep within the brain during surgery designed to treat Parkinson’s. And when you think about the cost to the healthcare industry, which is nothing, it’s a great idea.
Perhaps music can prevent just as many illnesses.
