Salmonella outbreak leads to egg recall
A national outbreak of salmonella in eggs that has sickened hundreds of people since May appears to be an ongoing problem, according to experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The problem has been traced to in-shell eggs from Wright County Egg in Galt, Iowa, which has now launched a recall.
The Associated Press estimates the total number of eggs recalled at a whopping 228 million. Eggs from the company were sold under multiple brand names, so see if you have any and take the necessary steps. The brands are Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps. The recall was launched on Aug. 13th.
