ROLLERtoaster – A New Way to Toast Bread

One might think that all innovation has been squashed from the toaster market. Enter the ROLLERtoaster – to burn new life into an appliance we all take for granted.
Resembling a paper shredder, the ROLLERtoaster was designed by Jaren Goh of Singapore and won a 2006 Red Dot Design Award for innovation. According to Jaren’s website, his sleek, compact, and modern design was inspired by the fact that cellphones, televisions, and other appliances have evolved to become sleeker and more refined, why not toasters which have hardly changed in 80 years?
Sorry, it doesn’t appear that bagels will fit in this device. I wonder how well this would work with frozen waffles? Unfortunately we may never know. At the time of this writing the ROLLERtoaster is a concept with no word on plans for production.
