The benefits of chocolateEarlier we looked at some health benefits of cinnamon. This article will focus our attention on chocolate. It does much more than just melt in your mouth.

First off, it can help your heart. According to a study in the Journal of Nutrition, people who ate dark chocolate had less of a protein that indicates inflammation, which can lead to a heart attack.

Need to change your mood? Chocolate can help there too. We crave chocolate when we’re down because its tryptophan ups serotonin in the brain, which lifts your mood. According to one study just the taste, texture, and smell are enough to make us happy all by themselves.

What about skin? You bet. Work it into your spa treatment. The chocolate milk’s lactic acid and antioxidants smooth and soften. But I’d rather eat it.

Use chocolate to eliminate your cravings. Some research suggests that you feel fuller and crave fewer sweet, salty, and fatty foods when you snack on chocolate. Choose dark chocolate because its low glycemic index steadies blood sugar levels, cutting cravings.
